New Capabilities & Feature Improvements

Automation Rules

Selection Rules

  • Added support for URL and Email fields in Selection Rules, allowing rules to target and match on web addresses and email fields.

Briefing System

Briefing System Configuration

  • Migration to Manage Modules: The Briefing System, which serves as the foundation for the Promotion Management solutions, is currently being updated. The initial phase involves relocating the configuration of the Briefing Modules to Side Navigation > Modules > Manage Modules. With this update, all settings associated with this solution are not only in a different location but have also been reorganised into tabs to enhance navigation and configuration. However, rest assured, all the settings remain accessible.

Configuration

Date Fields

  • Configurable Time Zone Handling: Administrators can now configure date and calculated date fields to display and process values strictly in UTC rather than automatically converting them to the user’s local time zone.

  • The "Disable time zone shifting" option is available for date and calculated date field definitions and displays the dates consistently in UTC across all views, search modules, and forms, preventing automatic local time zone adjustments. Date pickers will also automatically reflect when local time zone shifting is turned off.

New System Variable: ${SiteBaseUrl}

  • Introduced a new system variable ${SiteBaseUrl}, for use in formulas, notifications, action button redirects, and templates. ${SiteBaseUrl} Automatically combines the site host and context path into a clean base URL without a trailing slash. Previously, building full URLs using ${SiteUrl} required manually handling trailing slashes and context paths.

  • This change is fully backwards-compatible. Existing templates and formulas using ${SiteUrl} continue to work unchanged.

  • You can now construct links directly by adding your endpoint path with a single leading slash:

    ${SiteBaseUrl}/rest/endpoint

Module Views

Form with Tabs & Wizard Form

  • Switch Item View button: In the item views, you can now modify your current item view and switch between the available item views. If you have access to the configurator, you can also add and manage item views directly from this dropdown, with changes taking effect immediately.

Timeline 2.0

  • Milestone dates are now treated as valid anchors for timeline periods. Items are now shown in the Timeline when they have either start or end dates or a milestone in the relevant period, including when no bar date fields are configured.

Media Processing

AVIF Image Format

  • Added full support for the AVIF image format, enabling native UI previewing and rendering, as well as input and output media conversions.

Workflows

  • Workflow Details - List View: Introduces a tabular List View alongside the existing Diagram View when accessing the workflow of a particular status field, streamlining workflow transition management and configuration at scale.

    • Users can easily toggle between Diagram and List views. The selected view preference is saved automatically across sessions (Diagram remains the default).

    • Support for Bulk Transition Management: Bulk update filter fields across multiple transitions and bulk delete workflow transitions in one action.

    • Filters: Expands the filtering capabilities within Workflow Details to help administrators and configurators quickly isolate, inspect, and manage specific paths in complex workflows.

  • Note: With these enhancements, overseeing workflows from Side Navigation > Workflow provides the same functionalities as the previous Site Configuration, along with numerous other enhancements unique to the new solution. Consequently, we recommend that Citizen Developers avoid using the old routes, as they will be phased out in upcoming releases (as communicated in the August ’26 Release).

Other Improvements

Manage Modules

  • Persistent Filters in Manage Modules: When opening and closing a module configuration modal, the active filters and search criteria are now preserved in the view.

  • Keyboard Shortcuts in Manage Modules: To speed up navigation and configuration, keyboard shortcuts are now supported across the Manage Modules area:

    • Open Search (F): Quickly focus and open the module search input.

    • Open First Result (Enter): Open the top module directly from the search results.

    • Add Module / Field (A): Trigger the primary Add Module button on the list view or the first Add {label} button within module configuration.

    • Navigate Back (Escape): Return to the Manage Modules overview list.

    • Shortcut Tooltips: Supported action buttons now show their corresponding keyboard shortcut in their tooltip (e.g., Add Field (A)) for easier discoverability

  • Menu Elements Configuration: It now features an updated interface with full dark mode support, while retaining backward compatibility.

Performance & Architecture

  • Performance Optimisation - Time Tracking App: Improved data loading reduces load times and makes the app more responsive.

Important Changes & Retired Features

Events App

  • Absence or disabling of the Event app on site will make addWorkingDays(), subtractWorkingDays(), and durationWorkDays() formulas treat all days as working days. Previously, these formulas returned empty values and logged an error for the mentioned precondition

  • Changes to how addWorkingDays() and subtractWorkingDays() handle adding or subtracting 0 days.

    • 0 days returns the start date when it is a working day. Otherwise, it returns the nearest working day in the relevant direction, and that include-start is not relevant.

    Function

    Behavior

    addWorkingDays(start, 0, )

start if it's a working day, else the next working day.

    subtractWorkingDays(start, 0, )

start if it's a working day, else the previous working day.

Decomissioned

  • Removed user-facing labels in Media File Holder configuration (custom only):

    • Enable "Drag and Drop"

    • Source Media Holder

    • Drag and Drop File Path

Bug Fixes

  • A fix ensuring that all conditional workflows and associated actions are executed consistently on status changes and guaranteeing that workflow history logs accurately reflect all state transitions.

  • Fix to ensure that no broken action can block downstream task execution, such as actions, logging, and indexing.

  • Fixed an issue in Timeline View 2.0 where event rows could sometimes fail to load on slow connections.

  • Fixed an issue where the sidebar disappeared in media preview mode, preventing users from switching between media and form views.

  • Addressed a Proofing View rendering issue where multi-page HTML files were truncated to Page 1, preventing annotation on later sections.

  • Fixed the default recipient selection when creating a new Notification rule after saving one with a Velocity recipient. It ensures the user field is selected by default instead of reusing Velocity code.

  • Addressed a bug that prevented Comment Status values from being selected in the Automation Rule > Notification configuration for non-email channels.

  • Fixed an issue in Briefing where adding products via the "Find Products" popup did not display the progress indicator or automatically refresh the product list.

  • Resolved an issue where exporting or copying files to the file system produced duplicate files when earlier and newer versions were stored in different locations (such as local and cloud storage). The system now targets only the latest active version.

  • The Modules sidebar no longer displays for users without access to any modules or module configuration.

  • Fixed a User Management filtering issue where switching from “Inactive” back to “Active” could leave the previously filtered inactive user list visible.
