Enable Online Proofing
Important: Before starting to configure Online Proofing, ensure that at least one file field has been configured within the associated module.
To enable Online Proofing, follow these steps:
Navigate to Site Configuration → {Module} → Proofing and Comments.
Click Edit Settings.
Complete the relevant settings (see below table for more details)
Click Save to apply the changes.

Limit access to Comments and Page Statuses by | Access Right | This option defines how you want to control access to comments and page status. There are two options: access rights or user groups. The setting is respected for both Proofing and Item Comments. | |
Comment Colour - Access Right | Empty | Depending on the option selected within ‘Limit access to Comments and Page Statuses by’, you can control which access rights or user groups have restricted access to specific comment colours. We support 10 comment colours (yellow, green, blue, red, purple, orange, cyan, silver and lavender) with lavender reserved for guest users. A custom label can be specified against each colour to match your business use-case. The setting is respected for both Proofing and Item Comments. | |
Mark Comment as Resolved | Mark Comment as Resolved for Proofing | Disabled | When enabled, this option will allow users to mark a comment as done allowing them to effectively manage and track the resolution status of comments. More details can be found within the article Comments panel |

Proofing | Generate Previews on Upload | Disabled | When enabled, this option will ensure the process of generating previews for proofing implicitly is started directly after uploading a file. When disabled, the preview generation will be initiated when proofing of that specific file is opened for the first time |
Default View Mode | Compare | This has two options: compare and single. The selected option will define the default behaviour when opening online proofing. | |
Enable Page Status | Disabled | When enabled, this option will allow a status to be assigned to individual pages within online proofing. Depending on the option selected within ‘Limit access to Comments and Page Statuses by’, you can control which access rights or users groups have access to specific status colours. We support three states: no status, green status and red status. A custom label can be specified against each colour to match your business use-case. Media Holder | Disabled | This section allows to enable proofing for the specific media holder. Once defined you can specify a custom label for proofing button, whether comments can be exported from proofing and whether you want to allow for generating live proof from specified url. | |
