Breaking Changes

• A newly created sites will now automatically default to New UI instead of Classic UI. As such we have removed system property enable.new.ui and the property  portalPages should contain the value Dashboard. Exiting sites and users will remain unchanged.

• We have deprecated support for Inheritance. In our next release, this will be completely decommissioned.

• We have decommissioned Disk Usage as the information displayed to citizen developers was inaccurate and could cause excessive system load

• With the introduction of Validation and Formatting Automation Rules, we will be decommissioning Site Configuration → Module → Rules. Please note the following:

  • Previously configured validation rules will be automatically migrated, however, you should validate they are configured correctly.  

  • Previously configured formatting rules will be migrated with previously configured conditions, however, you will need to reconfigure the desired action. All previously configured formatting rules will stop working until they are reconfigured

• We have decommissioned the following two endpoints from our external API:

  • /rest/external/site/{siteID}/module/{moduleID}/item/retrieveAll

  • /rest/external/site/{siteId}/module/{moduleId}/item/{itemId}/withFileContent

• Any uploaded JPG images will not be converted to ensure that we can maintain the original colour space and transparency will no longer be applied. The original colour space of the JPG image will not be retained if the cropping tool has been applied and cropped image is inserted into PDF. Cropping functionality in AdBuilder will transform the file to PNG format with RGB colour space.

• Configuration of "export to FTP" and "export to File System" actions for filename does not require the file extension to be added and for existing configuration, the extension specified in filename has been removed e.g. before ${Metadata}.xml and after ${Metadata}. In case an extension is specified it will be duplicated in the exported file.

• To ensure support of the picture properties in AdBriefing, @itemId parameter has been added to specify the source file for the picture element. Unlike @path and @src which ignores any picture properties, this variable can be used where an image from a specific field and media holder needs to be used.

• Kanban Boards - Following the release of Kanban Boards we are please to announce we have extended to support transitioning of any user or option field via drag-and-drop allowing for you to quickly adjust work assignment after identifying bottlenecks. • Support for more file formats - We have extended our list of supported file types to now include SVG with support to create automatic renditions within the formats JPG, PNG or TIFF while retaining the original quality. Read more about this functionality in our guides

• Imposition - To allow our customers to produce content through Creative Automation Studio for print media and continue to be environmentally friendly we have now extended the merge PDF action to better support document imposition ensuring a reduction in paper waste.

• Comment Attachments - To better support customers during the review and approval process, where they may need to supply supporting or clarifying documentation to provide additional context and add substantiation to their comment, we will be extending Encode Proofing to be able to add attachments. • Support Import via Background Jobs - We have now made it easier and more accessible for citizen developers to specify key contacts to be provided updates on the progress of system import jobs something that was only previously available to site and system administrators further increasing the visibility of the success of background jobs.

• Multiple Actions within Formatting Automation Rules - Citizen Developers will also be able to manage formatting rules at a more granular level allowing you to apply custom CSS formatting to fields depending on value by defining AND/ELSE logic

• Formatting Rules within your Marketing Plan - We have also added the possibility to apply formatting rules to your marketing plan to automatically apply CSS formatting to the planned activities.

• Extend HTTP action to specify Filename - We have extended HTTP actions to allow for citizen developers to specify an alternate filename to better support integrations to third-party services whereby the filename needs to be unique.

• Extend action response mappings to support all field types - We have also further improved HTTP actions to support response mappings for additional field types including (TBC) to allow for greater flexibility when integrating with third-party services.

• Freeze columns as default during scroll - To improve the usability of both spreadsheet and timeline view we will now automatically freeze columns containing the following actions:

  • Bulk Operations Checkbox

  • Action List

  • Preview (when enabled)

  • Launch Proofing Icon

  • Start/Stop timer for recording time in Hours App

• Suppress all actions during import - We have extended import settings to allow citizen developers greater control in importing data with the possibility to skip executing actions and indexing.

• Fixed issue whereby users were unable to copy data from field log

• Fixed issue to ensure user timezone/locale is respected when viewing Background Jobs

• Fixed issue to ensure "All previous" date filter is applied in dashboard widget conditional formatting
