Encode is changing its name to Encodify in all markets

As we grow we have seen that it is becoming more critical to be in control of the name internationally. Hence we have chosen to make a slight change to our name.

The name change will have very little or no impact on your daily operations. We will secure that all processes and systems are not affected by the name change. And our first priority, as always, will be to support your business.

As part of this rebranding, you may now start to notice a number of small, discrete changes that will now display the Encodify logo throughout all customer systems.

Breaking Changes

  • Following our announcement within our Oct '22 release we have now decommissioned Briefing 'Send Email' from User Lists. If you previously used this functionality to test email notifications are being sent from your system then please refer here

  • Following our announcement within our Oct '22 release we have now decommissioned Briefing 'Export Text from PDF' from AdBuilder.

  • Following our announcement within our Oct '22 release we have now decommissioned Briefing 'Save to Project' from AdBuilder.

  • Following our announcement within our Oct '22 release we have now decommissioned Briefing 'Recognise Text' from AdBuilder.

  • Prior to Apache Commons Net 3.9.0, Net's FTP client trusts the host from PASV response by default. A malicious server can redirect the Commons Net code to use a different host, but the user has to connect to the malicious server in the first place. This may lead to leakage of information about services running on the private network of the client. The default in version 3.9.0 is now false to ignore such hosts, as cURL does. Seehttps://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NET-711. Here is a link with more info -https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2021-37533

  • When a new item is created via 'Add' or via "Copy' then all status fields should now have value allowed to the user as initial state. If not then the item will be in read-only mode

  • All existing import settings where 'Save Imported Files and Logs' was set to TRUE and 'Keep logged files for' value was "0" will be automatically updated on upgrade so that 'Keep logged files for' will be set to "30". If you require for import logs to be kept for a longer period then you should update them accordingly.

  • Any existing connected services of type email should be updated to include the appropriate Auth Type

  • The ability to edit another user's comment will be disabled as default. If this is required for your customer then you should ensure the associated feature flag is set to TRUE

  • We have moved two properties from system properties to webapp.yaml to both enable the external API and specify the max connections.

  • Condense events in Timeline View 2.0 - It is now possible to manage how you see events in the Timeline 2.0 View: Events can be visible with a full row dedicated to each individual event (same as now), or they can be condensed meaning that events wrap and share rows and thereby take up less space in the View. It is also possible to hide events entirely.

  • Row level item menu in Timeline View 2.0 - To match the functionality in other module views, it is now possible to perform actions in the Timeline View 2.0 through a row level item menu. This will save the users several clicks by no longer having to navigate away from the Timeline View 2.0 to perform certain actions.

  • Encode Inbox Authentication - Following Google's announcement that starting May 30, 2022, they will no longer support third-party apps or devices which ask you to sign into your Google Account using only your username and password. While this deadline does not apply to Google Workspace or Google Cloud Identity customers we have taken the decision to adjust our approach to ensure it complies with Google OAuth 2.0 guidelines. Read more about this functionality here

  • Encode Inbox Replies - We started by minimising the time required for our agency customers to receive a production request from their customers by creating an item from an email, however, our customers were still struggling to clarify this request without reverting back to emails. We are pleased to announce that this is about to change. Reply to your customers via an item comment triggering an email while also allowing your customers to submit updates by replying to that same email. Read more about this functionality here

This rule can then be manually selected during step 5 of the wizard. Read more about this functionality here

  • Scale AdBuilder Templates - Simplify the process of creating your AdBuilder web-to-print templates for use within Creative Automation Studio Print with our newly introduced automatic scaling technology to automatically resize one template to another format. • A fix to ensure its possible to switch back to your own user after switching users when a customer has SSO enabled.

  • A fix to ensure the styles can be applied to text widget on dashboard

  • A fix to prevent both background jobs and notifications panel from jumping when opened. The issue was introduced by Chrome browser version 106 and it is recommended to upgrade to the latest version of Chrome.

  • A fix to ensure that required fields badge is visible on save button in MEW for inline modules

  • A fix to ensure that users are not notified when they reply to their own comment

  • A fix to ensure that when adding products we pre-fill the correct price values

Please note that a number of the images displayed within the preview are contained within an iframe and are accessed via URLs containing NotSameOrigin and they will no be accessible to include in the preview.

  • A fix to ensure that users without edit access by status settings cannot add item and proofing comments. Note: While this functionality has been enabled we recommend it only used when absolutely necessary due to the likely impact on application performance.

  • A fix to workflow comments to ensure they are more reliably added as item comments when both are enabled in the module configuration

  • A fix to ensure that item or proofing comments created prior to upgrading to version 13.0.0 were displayed correctly caused by invalid HTML entered into the comment itself.

  • A fix to ensure that we can render HTML and HTML zipped files containing Google Web Design scripts

  • A fix to ensure that note numbers are exported correctly when exporting comments as TXT from video proof
