Item Lists are groups of media files that the user can create by putting together files from different Module items. Normally after creating an Item List, the user sends it to other users so that they can review it.

Item List Reminders are designed to remind users to review Item Lists that have been shared with them. To set up such a Reminder in your Module, you need to configure an Email Action with Item List Reminder as its triggering event. Also, to make the new Action effective, you need to activate the Actions feature for Item Lists in the module settings.

For general information about the Actions, refer to the Actions chapter of the EBMS Basic Configuration manual.

After you have configured and activated an Item List Reminder, users will be able to apply the Reminder Action to the lists they send to others by selecting the corresponding option in the Edit Item List dialog box. Those of the users who forget to review their Item Lists will then start receiving email reminders.

To configure an Item List Reminder, follow these steps:

  1. In the module configuration menu, click Actions.

  2. On the toolbar, click Create Action.

  3. In the dialog box that opens, type a name for the Action in the Name box.

  4. In the Event list, select Item List Reminder.

  5. For Action, select Send Email.

  6. Type the sender name and email address in their respective boxes.

  7. Specify a delay length that will trigger the sending of the Reminder, by typing a number in the Send Email box and select either Days or Hours in the box next to it.

  8. To specify how often the Reminder should be sent, type a number in the Repeat every box and select Days or Hours in the box next to it.

  9. In the Subject box, type the subject of the Reminder email.

  10. In the Message box, type the Reminder message. You can use variables to denote user-specific and other kinds of data such as the name of the Item List in question, and the link to it: all these variables will be replaced by actual data in resulting emails.

Configuring action for Item List Reminder

In order for Item List Reminders to become effective, you must activate the Actions feature for Item Lists. To do that, follow these steps:

  1. Go the Settings section of the module configuration menu.

  2. On the toolbar, click Edit Settings.

  3. In the dialog box that opens, select the Enable Actions for Item Lists checkbox.
