# Versions Clean-up

## Overview

The "**Version Clean-up**" menu in Site Configuration > Files allows to delete previous versions of the files for a specific module's media holder after version control functionality has been disabled.

## Setup

Precondition steps for clean-up is selection of module and media holder.

List of media holders will only show media holders:

- for single file fields
- with disabled version control setting

## Clean-up

---

Clicking "**Version Clean-up**" will delete all previous versions and leave only current version for the selected media holder. Corresponding files and folders on File system will be removed.

Version log is retained after clean-up.

Version clean-up works for both standard versioning and promitions.

For troubleshooting and monitoring, the following class can be set to debug

`dk.encode.ebms.core.media.service.PersistentMediaHolderServiceImpl`
