# Validate Mail Configuration

**Mail Configuration Test** allows system administrators to confirm that the system can successfully send email notifications based on configured [Mail Properties](/v1/docs/mail-properties).

## How to test your Mail Properties

To ensure your mail properties allow for email notifications to be sent from Encodify, follow the steps below:

1. Navigate to **System Configuration → Properties → Mail Properties**
2. Enter an **Email Address**
3. Adjust the **Subject** as required
4. Click **Send Email**

If the configuration of the Mail Properties are specified correctly, then an email will be sent to the specified recipient.
