# Configuring Pivot Table Widget

## How to create a Pivot Table Widget

To open a Pivot Table widget configuration modal, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the **Widget Library**(see [Manage Widgets](/v1/docs/manage-widgets) for more details)
2. Locate **Pivot Table** and click on the card.
3. Select a **Module**.
4. Enable or disable the **Widget Refresh Rate (in seconds)**. If enabled, set a time interval — the widget will automatically refresh at this interval unless previous request is still in progress.
5. Select a **Field** for a **Row Grouping**.
6. Specify sort order: **Ascending** or **Descending**.
7. Choose whether to include a row for empty items by toggling the **Add group with uncategorised Items**setting.
8. Select a time interval (Day, Week, Month, Quarter, or Year) for grouping items by date, using the **Group Date Values by** field.
9. Choose how to aggregate **Values**:
  - **Count**– counts the number of records based on the selected Row field.
  - **Field Summary** – aggregates the Values field for each item in the Row field.
10. For **Field Summary**, configure:
  - **Field** (required): The numeric field to summarise.
  - **Aggregation Type** (required): e.g. sum, average.
11. Apply a **Filter** to limit the dataset shown. Use **Saved Filters** to select an existing module filter, or choose **Custom Filter** to create a new one.
12. Click **Create** to confirm your settings and add the widget.
